Anime Review: Redline

As of late I've been watching movie after movie and I've been missing my old days of sitting in my most comfortable desk chair and watching a really good anime. Redline was just what I was looking for, director: Takeshi Koike was already responsible for another of my favorite animes Afro Samurai and now Redline is also on my short list of anime favorites.

The story follows racer "JP" as he struggles between making a living and wanting to be a racing legend. Redline is what you get when you take Speed Racer and Twisted Metal blend it with ecstasy, cocaine, acid then inject the product straight into your veins. The entire movie is a rush from start to finish complete with break neck speeds, explosions and even some hot anime girl action.

I love this anime and yes the story is simple and it should be. The art direction is amazing and to call it beautiful just doesn't do it justice. Blu-ray is a must for this one trust me.
